Trust & sources
What our labels and review dates mean, and where our responsibility begins.
Official source does not mean official YCG
YCG is independent of government. A government-source label identifies the publisher of the linked resource. Our summaries remain YCG explanations and are not government-approved.
What has been checked
Directory summaries record their individual source-page check dates, beginning September 28, 2026, with additions checked October 2–3, 2026 using AI assistance. A source check is not an independent audit, a professional review, or confirmation that a service is available to you. The draft guide remains unverified.
Three dates, three meanings
Source last updated is the publisher’s date when recorded. Source page checked is when we inspected the page for the summary. Next review target is our planned recheck date, not a promise that information stays unchanged until then.
Different kinds of information
Government source, public library, and community organization identify source types. YCG guide identifies our own explanation. Personal experience identifies the founder’s account. We do not award verified-organization badges or publish professional-advice labels without a defined review process.
Eligibility comes from the provider
A selected journey, province, or search match does not establish eligibility. Immigration status, residence, age, dates, and program rules can affect access. Check the original source and ask the provider.
Corrections and review
Report an incorrect listing through our Contact & support page. Include the page link, what appears incorrect and an authoritative source if available. Do not send personal documents. Source dates and review targets remain visible on each listing.
